THE De La Salle Secondary School in the National Capital District, has been given a truck by Moresby North-East MP Labi Amaiu.
Amaiu had promised the all-boys’ school to buy the vehicle during his visit there in June. Amaiu said as one of the oldest Catholic schools in the country, De La Salle had gone through a lot of rehabilitation programmes and it was fitting that it be assisted in its transport needs. “Transport has been one of the problems the school faces. “This truck will not solve all the transport woes but at least it will ease some of the burden of transporting students to and from the city and school,” Amaiu said. Principal James Ume said the school roll had increased and it would face more problems next year. School president Gerald Peni said the donation “will go a long way in contributing to the development of this school”. Board chairman Siki Rumints said the school had a huge plot of land for gardening and asked Amaiu to assist them. Comments are closed.
