THE new K9 million three-storey Peter O’Neill building is off the ground at the Enga teachers college.
It was funded by Government and the Enga provincial government and Prime Minister O’Neill did the official groundbreaking on Feb 6 during his visit to the college. Contractor Boruku Ltd is expected to complete the building by next March. Project manager Wesly Birin told The National that materials for the construction were already at site and expected to complete it within the one year given period. Birin said three engineers, eight multi skills workmen, six carpenters and 25 casuals have been engaged for the project. He said the actual construction started March. College principal Micheal Homingu said the new administration building would cater for all staff offices, reception, his office, accounts office, computer lab, library, store room, archives and conference room. He said that he trusted the local company because they built a double duplex flats for the lecturers’ houses and completed those within the given time frame last year. He thanked Governor Peter Ipatas and the Government for funding the building. He added that once completed, it would change the image of the college.
