FOUR young Papua New Guineans will study in the Philippines and return in 2017 as Christian Brothers.
They departed on Wednesday to study at the Philippines Congregation of the Brothers of Charity. They were sent by the Congregation of the Brothers of Charity of Papua New Guinea based at Yampu in Wabag and Fatima in Banz. John Baundo (pictured) from Sigri, Jiwaka, told The National that he was excited about going overseas for the first time. “I dropped out of Grade 10 in 2009 and thought I had no hope,” Baundo said. “I thank God because he had a different plan for me. “I am very happy to become God’s servant by expressing his love to the poor and disabled here in Papua New Guinea when I return.” Baundo is among three other men from Enga who have spent two years with Brothers of Charity in Wabag and have qualified to go for further schooling. Brothers of Charity in PNG Bro Jacobus Taru said the four young men will go for their four years of religious formation. They are Baundo, Emmanuel Caspar, Gideon Lowandi and Stanley Joseph. Baundo urged young people not to lose hope because they were born for a purpose where God can use them in different ways.
