Chief Secretary Isaac Lupari met with the chancellors and vice-chancellors of the four State universities yesterday. “But what’s happening on Waigani campus is that we have some classes resuming,” Mann said. “Students at Earth Science went to class on Monday and other schools are joining in. So during the week we are expecting full classes to resume and the management will look into that.” He said the Student Representative Council had written to the administration yesterday wanting to come and meet with the management. “They wanted to meet and reconcile,” he said. But SRC president Kenneth Rapa, who was outside of Port Moresby, told The National yesterday that he was not aware of the reconciliation. Meanwhile, classes at University of Technology have resumed after six weeks of student boycott. Vice-Chancellor Dr Albert Schram said there was a meeting with all departments at the university. “In particular first and fourth-year students are relieved that their academic year has been saved,” Schram said.
