THE International Training Institute (ITI) graduated more than 400 students with certificates, diplomas and advanced diplomas last week.
The ITI 44th graduation, which was held in Port Moresby, had the theme “Wisdom is Wealth”. He said the intakes since had grown with last year’s record of 3500 students. When defining the theme, Sentheyval told the students that”wisdom is defined as the quality of having experience, knowledge, and good judgement”. He said PNG was blessed with natural resources which needed wisdom and quality human resources to manage them. “PNG, which is blessed with many resources, but the questions is, are there enough people to manage it,” he said. He told the graduates that human resource helped to provide that management if they were educated. He said to them that knowledge could be provided but it was up to the graduates to make it become a reality. Speaking at the graduation ceremony, deputy director of the National Training Council, Stanislaus Motolova said that ITI was a new training provider but compared with others, it has gained momentum to become a premium training institute. “It has become a catalyst not only offering affordable vocational skills but also linking with professional knowledge and work ethics that are required by the government and the industry,” he said.
