THE prolonged dry session affecting communities throughout the country had not stopped Wawin National High School in Morobe along Markham’s savanna land to complete its education year successfully.
School principal Pal Pu, during the school’s 14 graduation ceremony, said despite the dry spell for more than five months, the school managed to cope with the situation to pass out 211 Grade 12 students. “Our governing council is very strong and their decisions on issues are always consistent and are in line with guidelines which had resulted in the school successfully completing its education year,” Pu said. “I confidently can predict the future positive results for the school because the school has a secret which is only through God. “Students were keen on learning and that was a motive that drive teachers interest to teach even it was a dry session.” Pu said the school had only faced issue on black outs that disturbs students’ studies and assignments. “Students and staff accessibility to water in the school was fine through well water using power pumps,” he said. Students’ representative counsel leader Stanley Boyd said most of the students were being transformed within two years of their studies through spiritual activities. “The school’s governing board, administration and the teachers were all behind the students’ development and I as a student representative would like to thank you all,” Boyd said. “It was by the grace of God and efforts teachers and management for completing the year,” he said .
