THE Government’s decision to phase out the Outcome-Based Education means parents must pay project fees and meet other obligations to support their children’s education, an official says.
East Sepik provincial education adviser Joseph Auli said the policy change would require a lot of support from parents especially in infrastructure development because Grades One and Two would be accommodated in primary schools. “This would mean new classrooms and teachers’ houses in primary schools for grades one and two,” he said. “In 2016, we will have the first Grade Six students selected to do Grade Seven in high schools and in 2018 we will have students selected from grade 10 to do grades 11 and 12 at secondary schools. “While parents are happy that their children will go straight to Grade one after the preparatory classes at Elementary School, you will have to pay project fees and support the school and Government in funding new buildings before 2016.” The National Related News Comments are closed.
